Prepare for the Future of C&I Solar-plus-Storage at the Mayfield Renewables Education Summit
We’re excited to announce the second annual Mayfield Renewables Education Summit! After a successful inaugural event in Austin, Texas, last year, we’re taking the 2025 summit to the beautiful Pacific Northwest this fall.
On October 15 and 16, we’ll be delivering best-in-class education around C&I solar-plus-storage and microgrids at the Bell Harbor Conference Center in Seattle, Washington. We’d love for you to join us. Read on to find out:
- What the Education Summit is and why it exists.
- Why we’re qualified to hold an event like this.
- The benefits of attending the event.
- The benefits of partnering with us.
What is the Mayfield Renewables Education Summit?
It’s a learning-focused live event for developers, EPCs, manufacturers, and industry stakeholders working in C&I solar-plus-storage. We hold it annually, in a different location each year.
The 2024 edition attracted attendees from construction and development, engineering, hardware and software, distribution, and utilities. They were a mix of leaders, directors, managers, implementers, and coordinators. Most were national or regional, and company sizes ranged from less than 10 employees to over 250.
We designed the Summit to help fill an often-overlooked space in the sector: “It’s one of the few industry gatherings dedicated to technical education,” says Laurel Hamilton, Head of Growth at Mayfield Renewables.
Added to that, the event has a strong networking element: By bringing together dedicated, quality-focused subject-matter experts and learners, it enables everyone to connect and share lessons learned — before, during, and after the sessions.
Why does the Education Summit exist?
Energy storage systems and microgrids are becoming crucial for C&I solar. They promise financial benefits, critical resiliency, and sustainability. But these systems are much more complex and carry much more risk than standalone PV. “Plus, they’re evolving quickly from product solutions to requirements and best practices,” says Laurel.
Lucas Miller, Senior Engineering Consultant at Mayfield Renewables, agrees: “Building, fire, and electrical codes update cyclically every few years. New products and engineering standards are getting introduced every year. There’s a lot to keep up with.”
This is increasing the need for reliable technical education. But quality training is currently hard to come by. Without it, developers and EPCs can’t respond to the demand for safe, reliable systems. That puts them at a strategic disadvantage and risks blocking industry growth as a whole.
To solve this problem, we drew on our strong expertise in quality education as well as our day-to-day experience in engineering work to develop a live event that delivers quality education around solar-plus-storage and microgrid projects.
“We wanted the summit to be really intentional about teaching the current requirements and how to overcome the challenges of complex projects,” says Laurel.
What qualifies us to hold an event like this?
Education is at the heart of everything we do at Mayfield Renewables. As an engineering firm that regularly guides complex PV+ESS projects to success, our mission is to make solar-plus-storage expertise accessible.
That mission was baked into the company from the very first day: Our founder is Ryan Mayfield, a passionate educator who has been lifting up the industry by demystifying codes and standards for decades.
By delivering education and sharing knowledge, we believe everyone benefits. As Lucas says: “A rising tide raises all boats. A more knowledgeable industry will produce higher-quality systems more efficiently, increasing demand and reducing costs for all stakeholders.”
Ultimately, we’re working to ensure that everyone in the industry is equipped to develop safe and robust systems for a resilient energy future. The Education Summit is part of that commitment.
What are the benefits of attending?
The future of solar is pairing solar with energy storage and building more complex microgrid systems. For developers, EPCs, manufacturers, and stakeholders in the C&I space, understanding these technologies is crucial to staying ahead of the curve.
Our educators understand how to mitigate the risks and leverage the opportunities of PV+ESS and microgrid systems. They’ll share the latest information on codes, standards, and new product solutions. And they’ll provide the roadmaps needed to build safer systems and unlock the full potential of this crucial sector.
With time and space for networking built into the program and venue, the Summit is also designed to foster beneficial relationships among peers. Attendees will also be able to connect with a select group of like-minded partners offering valuable products and services for overcoming challenges in C&I projects.
What are the benefits of partnering with us?
The Mayfield Renewables Education Summit attracts technically minded industry professionals who value education and doing things the right way. We’re looking for partners who share that mindset to support us and optimize their position in the industry.
As a provider solving C&I challenges, partnering with us will show the industry that you also prioritize education and quality. With your company visible and represented at the Summit, you’ll be able to connect with attendees and build relationships based on shared values.
We’re offering a limited number of partnership packages, and will only feature one product per category. That means you’ll get valuable exclusivity for the whole event. You’ll also align yourself with the well-respected Mayfield brand and will feature prominently on our promotional and marketing channels.
What now?
We’ll be providing information about the Education Summit regularly from now until October. Keep an eye on our socials and our website for updates and registration announcements.
